چکیده
Plumbum or lead is a type of heavy metal that dangerous if it has exceeded the threshold 0.07 µg/g based on National Standardization Agency SNI 2004. This found in nature such as soil, water, and air. The purpose study was to determine phytoremediation ability two types ornamental plants, namely Celosia argentea L. Mirabilis jalappa L., against (Pb) soil. growth parameters observed consisted plant height, stem diameter, number leaves, leaf length, width. ICP-MS (Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry) used analyze plumbum content soil plants. results ofinitial analysis prior planting process (phytoremediation) were 103.17 which had predetermined threshold. result after showed 49.685 1,9548 Similarly, Ph 47.802 5.3077 Based biomass calculation obtained 18.84% 27.85%, respectively. percentage Pb removal 51.842%, while 53.667%. efficiency absorption 1.895% 5.145%, In conclusion, Ornamental plants are able act agents for pollutes evidenced by decrease levels process. Keywords: (Pb), Phytoremediation,

Physiological responses and phytoremediation ability of Eastern Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) for crude oil contaminated soil
One of the most important anthropogenic pollution types in countries with oil production is soil and water contamination by petroleum. Phytoremediation is an emerging green technology for cleaning up polluted soil. A greenhouse experiment was conducted to study the effect of oil-contaminated soil on Echinacea purpurea with four concentrations of crude oil - contaminated soil: control = 0, 0.5% ...
متن کاملCadmium Phytoremediation by Arundo donax L. from Contaminated Soil and Water
The potential of Arundo donax L. for phytoextraction of cadmium (Cd) from contaminated soil and water was probed. The plants were grown under greenhouse conditions in pots containing a nutrient solution or soil with increasing doses of Cd (0, 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, and 1000 μg L(-1)) for 21 days. The growth and physiology of plants were evaluated at the end of the experiment. The maximum Cd co...
متن کاملPb pollution in soils from a trap shooting range and the phytoremediation ability of Agrostis capillaris L.
Pb pollution caused by shooting sport activities is a serious environmental problem that has increased considerably in recent decades. The aims of this study were firstly to analyze Pb pollution in soils from a trap shooting range abandoned in 1999, secondly to study the effectiveness of different extractants [CaCl2, DTPA, NH4OAc, low molecular weight organic acids (LMWOA), and bidistilled wate...
متن کاملEDTA effects on seedling emergence and growth of Chenopodium album (L.) in Pb contaminated soil. Mahdieh Ebrahimi*
The study was conducted to investigate the effects of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) on seedling emergence, morphological characteristics, and photosynthetic pigments of Chenopodium album (L.) in lead (Pb) contaminated soil. The Pb contaminated soils were taken from Hirmand River. The soil samples mixed with 0.71 g Li-1 Pb (PbNO3)2 to increase the Pb concentration. EDTA was added to the...
متن کاملPhytoremediation: Using Green Plants to Clean up Contaminated Soil, Groundwater, and Wastewater
Phytoremediation, an emerging cleanup technology for contaminated soils, groundwater, and wastewater that is both low-tech and low-cost, is defined as the engineered use of green plants (including grasses, forbs, and woody species) to remove, contain, or render harmless such environmental contaminants as heavy metals, trace elements, organic compounds, and radioactive compounds in soil or water...
